While surfing the net, it is nearly impossible to dodge a webcam/daily blog site. While visiting a few of these "girl blogs, webcam sites, chic blogs, journals, etc.", as they refer to themselves as, I have noticed a few trends that have become extremely common and in the same sense, impossible to overlook due to their extremely unintelligible content.

Through the magic of bored girls with the idea of sexualizing themselves online through webcams and blogs, you have these huge networks of sites that are referred to as "girl blogs, webcam sites, etc." Simply put, its the affiliation of millions of these webcam/blog sites with girls that have web cams, taking pictures of their cleavage or bare legs in order to gain an audience online. It seems that they don't care that the audience is a pack of misguided young boys, idolizing the girls on these sites as their online girlfriends, or hopes of them being so. It is horrible, disgusting, and leaves the taste of onions covered in mouthwash in my mouth (never mind the fact that I am eating a salad after brushing my teeth).

Lets look beyond the fact that they are sexualizing themselves. Lets just take a look at the sites that they create, shall we? You will be hard pressed to find one of these webcam/blog site that does not contain some type of description of the aforementioned girl, including, but not limited to, her hair/eye color, height, weight, cup size (never mind her site is filled with pictures of her narcissistic self which defeats the purpose of this description), pet peeves (which ironically usually contains 'perverted guys', 'bad websites'), favorite bands/music (to let you know if they are a hardcore rock girl or an 'oc' type of girl), etc. One thing that some of them do right, on the other hand, is design pretty nice layouts. I must give them that, but what is a layout when all you are going to post about is "im a nerd, but so many guys like me. I always attract the wrong guys. oh woe is me. im very opinionated. I like to argue. I have long hair. I just did my nails. im going out tonight. I think im in love. I hate my boyfriend. im breaking up with him. im getting back together with my boyfriend. did I mention I love him?" etc. etc.

It always gets me when im waiting a few seconds for a decent looking layout to load, and vua la, I see some picture of a girl sticking her tongue out with her cleavage taking up most of the image. When you get past scrolling through the horrible, gibberish that these girls try to pass off as their poetry and recaps of their mundane daily occurences, you think you are safe. Oh, but just you wait until you scroll down and find what seems to be THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of links to other webcam/blog sites with urls such as:

[4 out of what seems to be millions]

etc (I'm just copying a list that is on one of these god-forsaken webcam/blog sites I somehow surfed onto. if one of these is your site, then just thank me that I am not doing a full review of your site, you waste of bandwidth, you).

I can already hear the complaints about "what about myspace and livejournal? those are blogging sites!" sure, but its mostly used as a directory and means of contacting friends. not for reading about what movie someone saw last week and how the actor is "OMG! soooo hot!"

fyi: Don't get me wrong. There are many girls running blogs/sites that are worth visiting. The only ones I am referring to are the ones that bear a resemblance to the above mentioned description.
