After reading the url, I was a little skeptical about the direction this review was going to take. self-criticism (or accepting the fact that you are bitchy and basking in it) is not attractive.
The banner
and content layout is pretty well done. Even though I am not
a huge fan of "pretty in pink" type layouts, this one really
caught my eye. Its very simple, but at the same time is very attractive.
I don't think
I've ever seen another layout where a pair of sneakers with pink legwarmers
were fitting. At any rate, it could use a little help from maybe more
graphics or some type of effects.
In much
the same way, the navigation of the site is also well done. Any
website, with any type of content, is useless without a simple navigation
that everyone can use. This site is a great example of that. You can't
miss the overall summary of what the site contains, and what it has
to offer from the easy to locate navigation bar. On the other hand,
the site takes a nose-dive when it comes to its content. I had
a lot of hope for this site's ability to contain content that is more
useful than other blogs due to its unique layout; I had no such luck.
the posts I found were usually about the typical "I found this
article and it was funny" etc. There is also a gallery of avatars
that
can actually be found useful by others, which is more useful content
than you will find on many other blogs. The most entertaining part I
found was one of the "you know you are ___ if..." posts. Others
were typical email forwards that you have all probably come into contact
with through email. Yes, they are the ones you immediately delete, and
I don't blame you. There are some pages that visitors will basically
turn away from immediately such as, but not only, the somewhat long
winded 'about me' page. On the plus side, there is not much evidence
of narcisism besides it. Overall, the site is attractive in terms of
its looks, but the content does not seem to be something that will attract
return visitors.
